Jack’s “Call” cannot wait

Jack LaLanne’s Celebration of Life memorial on February 1, 2011, served to remind us that Jack started a one-man physical activity revolution.  Jack LaLanne is the symbol of physical activity that is timelessly inspirational.

The Call-to-Activity to Save America’s Health started in January, 2011.  The “Call” serves as Jack’s legacy to support physical activity initiatives for everyone, everywhere.

Jack said, “People don’t die of old age, they die of inactivity”.  Older adults are coming together to promote the Call-to-Activity nationally and locally lead their communities to hear the Call.  As people sign up at www.Call-to-Activity.com, they are directed to join the national Call-to-Activity fan page, add their weekly minutes of exercise, and share their favorite physical activity programs.

Our nation is fighting for its economic life as we face dramatic increases in healthcare costs aggravated by obesity and chronic illnesses.  Systemic reform and changes in governmental policy will never reduce healthcare dependency.

We need a responsible solution for improving the health of those who face the greatest health risks.  So we start with the Senior Call, but that is just the beginning.  Look for details about the Boomer Call, the School Call (K thru 12), and the Corporate Call just for starters.

Saving America’s Health Must Start Now

Starting in 2011, 78 million boomers will turn 65 over the next 20 years. The 2010 Medicare trustee’s report said Medicare will not have enough money to pay for the benefits consumed by 2029.  We are out of time and we must start now to Save America’s Health!

As older adults we can get involved and get active in 2011. We are the seasoned generations that have the desire and the will to remain independent, stay mobile, feel good, and enjoy life longer.  We are the generations that want to avoid healthcare dependency and to not become a burden on our family, our community or our country.

We are the generations that are passionate about our country’s future and we are ready to provide the “Will to Win” leadership necessary to Save America’s Health.

Jack LaLanne, America’s Health Pioneer predicted our healthcare crisis over 50 years ago.  Time and again Jack predicted that our country would not be safe if we the people did not stay active.

We can win this fight.  Show your support to Save America’s Health by registering as a Call-to-Activity Fan.  Then visit the Call-to-Activity Facebook Fan page and post your support for the national initiative, community programs, and personal participation.
